Funny Bruno Deleted Scene
A deleted scene from Bruno has made its way online. It’s the same set-up as the now famous Paula Abdul interview where Paula was asked to sit on some Mexican gardeners who were acting as the furniture in Bruno’s rented house, except this time it’s Pete Rose. I love Rose’s line, “I don’t eat hair”. Check out the humourous clip below.
Howard Stern Interviews Sacha Baron Cohen
I was looking at a few things on YouTube the other day and came across an interview that Sacha Baron Cohen did with Howard Stern in August 2004. It was more than 2 years before the Borat movie made Cohen a big star in North America. The reason I post it is that we have rarely seen a great sit-down interview with the man where he is not in character and where he talks seriously. I was actually quite surprised to see him appear on The Late Show With David Letterman last week as Sacha Cohen and not as Bruno. I think most of the media appearances he has made recently have all been as Bruno. In fact, he appeared on The Howard Stern show on Monday as Bruno and it was a rather amusing interview. Anyways, if you are at all interested, check out the clips below. It is one of the few times that you will hear Cohen talk openly about himself, his various characters and his penis.
Bruno Tops Box Office

Bruno was the top movie at the box office this weekend earning an estimated $30.4 million. That’s an improvement over star Sacha Baron Cohen’s previous Borat which opened with $26 million in Novemer 2006 — however Borat opened at only 837 theaters for an average of $31,000 per location, whereas Bruno opened at more than 2,700 theaters for an average of $11,000 per location.
Remaining in 2nd place for the weekend was Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs which added another $28.5 million — bringing it’s total after 2 weekends in release to $120.5 million.
Falling to 3rd place was Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The movie, starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, added another $24.2 million to bring it’s 3-week total to $339.2 million.
Rounding out the top five films were Public Enemies (4th) starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale with $14.1 million ($66.5 million to-date) and The Proposal (5th) starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds with $10.5 million ($113.7 million to-date).
The weekend’s only other new release was I Love You Beth Cooper starring Hayden Panettiere which opened in 7th place with $5 million.
Next weekend’s new releases include Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and 500 Days of Summer which opens in limited release.

Movie Review: Bruno

What is there really to say about Bruno? It’s the movie that you probably think that it’s going to be – and so much more. And yet there were still people who walked out in the middle of the screening I attended (and had to make a big scene about it too). Did you not see Borat? Did you not at least hear about Borat? Did you not know that he had a hairy, naked ass attached to a 300 lb. man in his face for a good 10 minutes of that movie? It really amazes me that someone could walk into a screening of Bruno and not know exactly what they were getting themselves into (and they got heckled pretty good for doing it). But with that being said, there were a few scenes that even I found a bit shocking. Unlike the people who walked out I loved every minute of it. Read more
