2012 Review

In 2012, director Roland Emmerich once again warns us that the world is going to end, this time in the year 2012. That year is a bit too close for my liking. It seems radiation from the sun is causing the Earth’s core to heat up like never before and as a result, the planet’s crust shifts causing massive earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and gigantic tsunamis. The Earth and mankind will cease to exist once again, in the eyes of Mr. Emmerich. Unless, of course, you are a friend or family member of Jackson Curtis (John Cusack), the famous author and part-time limo driver in Los Angeles who will stop at nothing to save his ex-wife (Amanda Peet), her new husband (although he should have tried a little harder in this case) and his two kids, even if it means taking them to China and the Himalayan mountains. Sounds pretty simple. Read more
2012 Poster
A second poster for Roland Emmerich’s 2012 is now online. It’s another “end of the world” movie and in the poster, it looks like New York City is once again disaster’s whipping boy. 2012 will be in theatres on November 13th.
