New Season of the Witch Trailer
A couple of weeks ago we showed you the teaser for Season of the Witch starring Nicolas Cage. Tonight, the full trailer for the movie is online at Fandango. In the movie, Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who must transport an accused witch to a remote abbey where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the Black Plague. When he arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardizes his pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits him against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force. Ron Perlman, Stephen Campbell Moore, Robert Sheehan, Claire Foy, Ulrich Thomsen, Stephen Graham and Christopher Lee also star. Dominic Sena directs. Click the screencap below to check it out.
Season of the Witch opens March 19, 2010.
New Kick-Ass Poster
A new poster for Kick-Ass has made its way online via MySpace. This coincides with the first trailer for the movie that was unofficially, then officially, released last night. You can check out that trailer by clicking HERE.
I have to say, this film is slowly creeping up the list to be one of my most anticipated movies of 2010. I haven’t heard anything but good things about it. Hopefully it lives up to the hype!

Teaser For Kick-Ass
The teaser for Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass is online and we’ve got it below courtesy of FirstShowing.net. The movie is getting some great early buzz, from both the Comic-Con footage that was shown in July to the review that recently showed up on AintItCool.com that called the movie “by far the best comic book movie I have ever seen“.
The story centres on a high school nerd with no coordination or athletic ability who decides to becomes a superhero. Check out the first teaser for the movie below.
Kick-Ass will be in theatres on April 16, 2010.

Season of the Witch Trailer
IGN has a teaser for Season of the Witch. Now, before you start wondering, I should make it clear that this movie has nothing to do with the 1982 movie Halloween III: Season of the Witch — which, incidentally, is the only movie in the Halloween series not to feature Michael Myers. Instead, the movie stars Nicolas Cage as a 14th century Crusader who must transport an accused witch to a remote abbey where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the Black Plague. Check out the video below.
While on the subject of Nicolas Cage, this trailer proves 1 of 2 things. Either a) he doesn’t spend any time online reading about how ridiculous is hair looks from one movie to the next; or b) he reads about it and really doesn’t give a shit. If you just Google “Nicolas Cage Hair” you’ll find any number of sites dedicated to the phenomena. And it looks like this movie will be adding a little fuel to the fire.
Directed by Dominic Sena, Season of the Witch is currently due in theaters March 19, 2010.
A Couple Of Bad Lieutenant Posters
LatinoReview.com has a couple of new posters for Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. The movie stars Nicolas Cage as a violent, drug-addicted cop in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans, who rips through the town on a drugs, sex and crime spree. The movie is being promoted as a remake of 1992’s Bad Lieutenant which starred Harvey Keitel, but director Werner Herzog denies any such association, even pointing out that he has not even seen the original movie.
I have read and heard some conflicting reports on the film from people who saw it in Telluride or at the Toronto International Film Festival. Some people have said that it’s a return to form for Nic Cage and others have said it’s a train wreck. In any case, I’ll put my faith in director Herzog, who has put out some extremely impressive work over the last five years (if you haven’t seen Grizzly Man, I suggest you do so immediately – it’s simply unbelievable).
Check out the new posters below.

Nicolas Cage Talks Green Hornet at TIFF

The big news earlier this week was that Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) had replaced Nicolas Cage as the villain in The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen. Cage was in Toronto yesterday for the showing of his new movie Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans where he spoke about leaving the project. According to Cage, he “wasn’t interested in just being just a straight-up bad guy who was killing people willy-nilly” and Rogen and Gondry “had a different take on the character” and there wasn’t enough time to develop the script.” Hard words from a hard man.
The Green Hornet is currently scheduled for release December 17, 2010.
Green Hornet Un-Cage-ed

It looks like The Green Hornet movie has one less name on its role call. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nicolas Cage is out as Mr. X, the villain in the Michel Gondry movie. This despite the fact that the movie has already began shooting, as you can see from some of the on-set pictures we have HERE.
I know I’ve already listed all the problems this movie has ran into since the moment it was a glimmer in Kevin Smith’s eye but here’s a refresher:
1) Director Kevin Smith pulls out of the project in 2004.
2) Director Stephen Chow abandons the director’s chair in December 2008.
3) The release date moved from June 25, 2010 to July 9, 2010.
4) Stephen Chow drops out of playing Kato for director Michel Gondry.
5) The release date moved from July 9, 2010 to December 17, 2010.
and you can now add:
6) Nicolas Cage no longer playing Mr. X.
Let’s hope “the list” stops at 6.
The Green Hornet will be in theatres on December 17, 2010 (I hope!).
