Maggie Gyllenhaal Joins Nanny McPhee Sequel
How long has a sequel to Nanny McPhee been in the works?! More importantly, how does Nanny McPhee deserve a sequel?!
Whatever the case, apparently Maggie Gyllenhaal has joined the sequel, starring alongside Emma Thompson (as the titular Nanny), Rhys Ifans, Maggie Smith and Asa Butterfield. The movie, titled Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (is it just me, or does that sound like the title for an “adult” film), centers on a group of kids who are evacuated from the city to a farm during wartime. In addition to starring, Thomspon will also write and executive produce.
Production is scheduled to begin this summer with first-time feature director Susanna White in the director’s chair.
