Harvey Keitel Joins Fockers
Harvey Keitel has joined the cast of Little Fockers, the third movie in the “Meet The Parents” series.
When I first heard this news I thought Keitel would be playing Deniro’s brother in the movie because I think that’s a role he could pull off but apparently he will be playing a contractor hired by Gaylord Focker (Ben Stiller).
Keitel joins a very solid cast that already includes series regulars Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Owen Wilson, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner, as well as new additions Jessica Alba and Laura Dern.
Little Fockers is set to be in theatres on July 30, 2010.
Dern Is A Focker
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Laura Dern will join the cast of the third “Meet The Parents” movie, currently working under the title Little Fockers. I would actually be surprised if that title sticks because, you know, some religious nut in North Carolina or Texas might get offended by it.
Dern joins a cast that already includes Focker regulars Ben Stiller, Robert DeNiro, Owen Wilson, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner and another new addition, Jessica Alba. There’s no word yet on whether or not we will see the return of Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand.
Dern will be playing the headmistress of the elementary school where the twins (otherwise known as the little Fockers) of Greg and Pam (Stiller and Polo) will attend. The little Fockers are said to be five-years old in the movie.
Little Fockers is currently targeting a July 30, 2010 release date.
Little Fockers Adds Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba is in talks to join the follow-up to Meet the Fockers for Universal. The movie was originally titled Baby Fockers and was to be directed by Roman Polanski, but that idea was scrapped after Polanski was taken into custody over the weekend for having sex with a minor back in the 70s. The movie will instead be titled Little Fockers and Paul Weitz will direct.
The third movie in the Fockers series, which reunites Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner and Owen Wilson, casts Alba as an attractive pharmaceutical representative whose looks turn heads. Jay Roach, who directed the first two movies, will produce this time around. Larry Stuckey wrote the original script which has since been rewritten by John Hamburg.
Alba is next in theaters in the ensemble romantic comedy Valentine’s Day directed by Garry Marshall. And I’m just joking about Roman Polanski.
