Knight and Day Poster
With all the trailers that debuted last week, one that I’m surprised we didn’t find online was for Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. The trailer was apparently in theaters this past weekend, but for whatever reason we’re still waiting for something to show up on the web. While we wait, a poster and an official site for the movie are available. In the movie, Diaz stars as a lonely woman whose seemingly harmless blind date suddenly turns her life upside-down when a super spy (Cruise) takes her on a violent worldwide journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source. Check out the poster below.

Knight and Day is currently scheduled to open July 2, 2010.
Wichita Gets A New Name

The movie that has been referred to as “Wichita” and “Trouble Man” has been given a new title – Knight & Day. Starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, Knight & Day is about a secret agent (Cruise) who pops in and out of the life of a single woman (Diaz). The duo eventually becomes fugitives on the run.
Also starring in the movie will be Peter Sarsgaard, Olivier Martinez, Paul Dano, Maggie Grace, Viola Davis and Mark Blucas. James Mangold is directing the film that is currently shooting in and around Boston and will eventually be shot in other locations including Spain and Austria.
Knight & Day is being classified as an action-comedy.
The title change actually seems sort of lame but I will trust the studio on this one. I decided to look up some of the famous title changes that have happened over the last several years and it seems the final title is always the more appropriate one. Here are some examples:
- American Pie was, at one time, called “East Great Falls High” and “Comfort Food” before some legal issues were resolved and the final name was given to the movie.
- Pretty Woman started out with the name “3000″ for the amount of money that Julia Robert’s character was given to be a ho.
- Rocky was first named “The Contender”.
- There’s Something About Mary was first called “There’s Something About Sarah”.
- Scream was originally called “Scary Movie”.
- Blade Runner went through several changes, including “Android”, “Mechanismo” and “Dangerous Days”.
- Unforgiven was, at one time, called “The Cut-Whore Killings”, “Whore’s Gold” and “The William Munny Killings” before Clint Eastwood himself picked the final title.
- Field of Dreams was called “Shoeless Joe”.
- Big was originally called “When I Grow Up”.
- Letters From Iwo Jima went through a series of titles, including “Men From Mars”, “Lamps Before The Wind” and “Red Sun, Black Sand”.
- Saturday Night Fever was almost called “The Tribal Rites of Saturday Night”.
As you can see, in every case, the right choice was the final choice.
Pics From The Set Of Wichita
JustJared.com has posted a bunch of pictures from the set of James Mangold’s Wichita, which stars Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz and Maggie Grace.
Imdb.com describes the movie as follows:
Unaware that her blind date is a federal agent (Tom Cruise), a woman (Cameron Diaz) is subsequently pulled into a globe-spanning attempt to protect the key element to a infinite power source.
Sounds kind of mysterious. Judging from the pictures, Cruise’s character somehow gets Diaz into a pair of handcuffs and then pulls her close, despite her sweaty armpits.
Wichita is scheduled to hit theatres on July 2, 2010.
