Justin TimberlakeJustin Timberlake has joined the cast of Bad Teacher starring Cameron Diaz.

The comedy stars Diaz as a foul-mouthed, gold-digging seventh-grade teacher who, after being dumped by her boyfriend, sets her sights on a colleague (Lucy Punch) who is dating the school’s model teacher (Timberlake). Jason Segel also stars as the school’s gym teacher while John Michael Higgins will play the principal. Molly Shannon and Eric Stonestreet also star. Jake Kasdan will direct from a script by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky.

What makes this story more interesting is that Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake were a real-life couple a few years back. Things didn’t work out and Timberlake is currently dating Jessica Biel. He stars later this year in the Facebook movie The Social Network.

First Look At Justin Timberlake In The Facebook Movie

Sean Parker The first picture from the movie The Social Network, written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by David Fincher, has appeared on the website for the UK’s Daily Mail.

In the picture, we get to see how Justin Timberlake looks playing Sean Parker (pictured to the left). Not too bad if I do say so myself.

Parker was one of the co-founders of Napster who managed to weasel himself in with Facebook inventor Mark Zuckerberg, just as the website was gaining its tremendous popularity. He came up with the idea of changing the website, which was being used mainly by college students at the time, from thefacebook to simply Facebook and eventually became the company’s president when it incorporated in 2004. Soon after, Facebook would grow into one of the biggest success stories in the history of the internet, if not the history of the world. Zuckerberg, Parker and a handful of other twenty-something-year-olds became billionaires and millionaires and Facebook now has something in the neighbourhood of 300 million users.

I actually got a chance to read the book about the invention of Facebook called The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal. Zuckerberg sure does not come off looking too good in the book, that I can assure you. It was a very interesting read and hopefully translates into a good movie.

The Social Network is currently filming in and around Los Angeles.

It is scheduled to be in theatres sometime in 2010.

Cooper, JT, Reynolds All Vying for Green Lantern

green-lantern-2

Yesterday we ran a story from AICN that Justin Timberlake was at a testing for the role of The Green Lantern (I actually mistakenly called it The Green Hornet). Well today comes word (from The Hollywood Reporter) that Mr. Timberlake is facing some stiff competition. It seems the field has been narrowed down to three finalists – JT, Bradley Cooper and Ryan Reynolds. Henry Cavill, Michael Fassbender and Jared Leto also read for the role – Jared Leto? Really? Seems to me that Bradley Cooper is a pretty hot commodity right now but Timberlake and Reynolds would also be great choices. I’m going to lean towards Cooper getting the part. I am sure the final decision will be made sooner than later. I’m not sure why I wrote previously that Jack Black was being considered. Let us know what your thoughts are on who should be The Green Lantern. The movie is scheduled to be in theatres in June 2011, so there’s still plenty of time to get things done!

AintItCool is reporting that Warner Bros. ran a screen test for The Green Lantern and musician/actor/golfer Justin Timberlake suited up for that test. The report claims it “does not mean that JT is going to be Hal Jordan, but just that he’s one of the guys that they’ve been seriously considering for the role of our Emerald Knight. At least that’s the latest from our source, Alphonse.” Keep your eyes and ears peeled for the final decisions to be made soon. Apparently Jack Black is also a front-runner. The Green Lantern is scheduled to be in theatres in June 2011.
