Unused Basterds Poster
TheMovieBlog has uncovered an unused poster for Quentin Tarantino’s fabulous Inglourious Basterds. With all the posters they released for this movie, it’s a bit surprising that they actually held one back. I got to see the movie on the weekend and loved it. Will hopefully have a review up before the end of the week. Check out the poster below.
Inglourious Basterds Tops Box Office

Inglourious Basterds was the top movie this weekend earning an estimated $37.6 million. The movie, directed by Quentin Tarantino and starring Brad Pitt, marks the best opening of Tarantino’s career. (His previous best was Kill Bill Vol. 2 which earned $25.1 million when it opened in April 2004.)
Dropping to 2nd place for the weekend was District 9 which earned another $18.9 million. The movie, directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson, has earned $73.5 million in 2 weekend of release. It was produced on a reported budget of $30 million.
In 3rd was G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra which brought in another $12.5 million. After 3 weekends in release, the movie has earned $120 million.
Rounding out the top 5 films were The Time Traveler’s Wife (4th) with $10 million ($37.4 million after 2 weekends) and Julie & Julia (5th) with $9 million ($59.3 million after 3 weekends).
The only other new release to crack the top 10 was the Robert Rodriguez kids movie Shorts which finished in 6th spot earning $6.6 million.
Next weekend’s new releases include Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 and The Final Destination.

Inglourious Basterds – Poster No. 15
What else is to be said – we’re at poster number 15 for Inglourious Basterds. I think at this point, they should just continue making posters and forget about the movie. This one features Eli Roth’s character Sgt. Donny Donowitz, who apparently likes to kill Nazis with a baseball bat. Check out the new poster below.

Your Bi-Weekly Basterds Update
Seems that a week doesn’t go by where there isn’t some kind of Inglourious Basterds update. This week’s news comes in the form of yet another Basterds poster with Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) posing on top of a pile of dead nazis. By my quick count, that is poster number 14 and that’s not including some international posters that I might not know about. That has to be some kind of record. Probably a bit of overkill too. If you’re a fan of the UFC, be prepared to get some more Basterds shoved down your throat this weekend as Quentin and co. foray into the world of mixed martial arts and cage fighting. You can read all about that here. Inglourious Basterds will be in theatres on August 21st – so there’s still plenty of time for more posters!
Basterds Joins UFC

Inglourious Basterds will be taking it to the ring – literally. THR.com is reporting that The Weinstein Company will be using The Ultimate Fighting Championship to promote their latest movie during this weekend’s UFC 100. Basterds will be getting an animated billboard, placement inside the fighting ring and a trailer to be shown to the 11,000 fans in attendance at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Millions of fans from around the world will also be watching the pay-per-view event on July 11th. UFC 100 will feature the likes of Brock Lesner vs. Frank Mir, Georges St. Pierre vs. Thiago Alves, along with 9 other fights. I guess we’ll have to see if the same people who like watching these guys bash each other’s brains out are the same people who will sit through a 2-hour plus movie with Brad Pitt, Eli Roth and a few others running bashing in Nazi brains. Seems to make a bit of sense, as silly as it sounds. Inglourious Basterds will be in theatres on August 21st.
New Basterds Posters
Four new posters for Inglourious Basterds have been released. Doesn’t it seem like this movie has been promoted for an unusually long period of time? I particularly like the Brad Pitt poster as it has my favourite quote at the bottom of the poster from the trailers I’ve seen so far. Except I think he says “bidness” not “business”. Anyways, check out the posters below. Basterds will finally be in theatres on August 21st.

International Basterds Trailer
A French trailer for Inglourious Basterds is online and it contains some new footage. Definitely worth checking out. Basterds will be in theatres on August 21st.
Basterds Trailer No. 2
The second trailer for Inglourious Basterds is online, minus the Entertainment Tonight commentary. I love the part where Brad Pitt says “We in the killing Nazi bidness and cousin, bidness is a boomin’”.
Basterds will be in theatres on August 21st.
