Darth Vader Hits Wall Street

Here’s something you don’t see everyday. Yesterday, on Wall Street, Darth Vader rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. He was there as a representative of Lucasfilm Ltd. and he brought an army of Stormtroopers along with him. R2D2 was seen hanging around the trading floor too. Kind of appropriate that the Dark Lord is there to close off 2009. I think it would be even better if Vader and his Stormtroopers showed up in Oliver Stone’s Wall Street 2 to give Gordon Gekko a hand in taking down some corporate swindlers. I think the world would breathe a sigh of relief to see Donald Trump’s head chopped off with a lightsaber.

Anyways, check out the video below.

You may or may not know this but the special effect company ILM, owned by George Lucas, has a penchant for sticking R2D2 discreetly into some of the films on which they work. With Star Trek coming out on DVD and Blu-ray today, Gizmodo.com has found R2’s appearance in that movie. You can check out the screen shot down below of the little guy flying through space (click HERE for a larger version). They also stuck R2D2 in Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen earlier this summer. I’ve put that picture down below too, in case you have not seen it.

Pretty funny, if you ask me.

Ford Comments On Indy 5

Indiana Jones It’s looking more and more like another Indiana Jones movie might be a possibility. While in France to accept a career award at the Deauville Film Festival, Harrison Ford spoke to Le Figaro and had this to say about Indy 5:

The story for the new Indiana Jones is in the process of taking form. Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and myself are agreed on what the fifth adventure will concern, and George is actively at work. If the script is good, I’ll be very happy to put the costume on again.

This goes hand-in-hand with a story from earlier in the summer where Crystal Skull co-star Shia LaBeouf told the BBC that Spielberg had “cracked the story on it and I think they’re gearing that up.”

Sounds to me like Indy might be pulling out the fedora and cracking the whip once again! What are your thoughts on another addition to the Indy franchise?
