The Box Movie Review

In The Box, Cameron Diaz stars as Norma and James Marsden is her husband Arthur. As the movie begins, we are told it is 1976, it is 5:44AM in Virginia and Norma and Arthur are sound asleep in their comfortable suburban home. A minute later the doorbell rings and Norma answers the door to find a box sitting on her step – THE box. In the box is another box with a glass case that has a red button inside of it. A key is needed to access the button. A note in the box indicates that Mr. Steward will be contacting them in 11 hours with more information. Read more
Gordon Gekko After 20 Years In Prison
The first picture of Michael Douglas on the set of Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps has hit the internet. We get to see what Gordon Gekko looks like after spending the last 20 years in prison. A little greyer but still has the sharp threads, if you ask me. He must have hid some of that embezzeled money pretty good.
In the movie, Gekko returns to Wall Street to alert the financial community of the impending economic disaster and to also help a young trader (Shia LaBeouf) find out who is responsible for the murder of his mentor (Frank Langella). The young trader, Jacob Moore, also happens to be dating Gekko’s daughter, who will be played by Carey Mulligan. The movie will also star Josh Brolin, Susan Sarandon and rumour has it Charlie Sheen will be making an appearance as his character from the first movie, Bud Fox. Oliver Stone is directing.
Wall Street 2 will be in theatres on April 23, 2010.

Wall Street 2 Pics
JustJared.com has posted the first pictures from the set of Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. In the pictures we get to see Shia LeBeouf’s character Jacob and Frank Langella’s Lewis Zabel hanging around Central Park. Lewis Zabel, for some reason or another, seems to be running around in his pyjamas and looking quite sad In another scene, he’s a bit happier and walking his four dogs. Or maybe it’s just Langella walking his dogs and wearing his pj’s – who knows? As for LaBeouf’s Jacob, well, he looks exactly like Shia LaBeouf. Check out the pictures below, including one with Langella, LaBeouf chatting it up with director Oliver Stone. You can click HERE to see a handful of other pictures, including a sockless LaBeouf sucking back a couple of cancer sticks.

Charlie Sheen Returning To Wall Street

It looks like Charlie Sheen’s Bud Fox will be back on Wall Street the place where he learned “lunch is for wimps” and “greed is good“. An article in The New York Times has indicated that Sheen’s character will make a cameo appearance in Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. This is what The Times had to say:
…the cast includes Shia LaBeouf as Jake Moore, a young trader who is the fiancé of Gekko’s daughter, played by Carey Mulligan; Josh Brolin as the head of an investment bank; Frank Langella as Jake’s mentor; and Susan Sarandon as Jake’s mother. Charlie Sheen, who played the central role of Bud Fox, a young trader, in the original, will make a cameo in the sequel. Shooting for the film, which will be released by 20th Century Fox next April, begins this week in New York.
A script for a sequel had been circulating for years, but last year, amid the financial crisis, 20th Century Fox hired the writer Allan Loeb to rewrite the screenplay and tether the story to current events.

Sarandon On Wall Street
Susan Sarandon has joined Oliver Stone’s Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. Sarandon will play the mother of an ambitious young trader played by Shia LaBeouf.
Her presence will only strengthen an impressive cast that already includes LaBeouf, Michael Douglas, Frank Langella, Josh Brolin and Carey Mulligan.
The story will focus on a trader (LaBeouf) who partners with Wall Street legend and former jailbird Gordon Gekko (Douglas) in order to figure out who murdered the young man’s mentor. Carey Mulligan will play Gekko’s daughter and LaBeouf’s love interest and Brolin is rumoured to be playing a villain. Langella will play an old-time trader who mentors Labeouf.
Filming is scheduled to begin next month in New York for an April 2010 release. Seems a bit quick, doesn’t it?
Gekko’s Estranged Daughter Found
Carey Mulligan will play Gordon Gekko’s estranged daughter in Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. Her character will be romantically tied to an up-and-coming Wall Street trader that will be played by Shia LaBeouf.
You may be asking “who is Carey Mulligan?” and that is a very good question. She’s a 24-year old British actress who has appeared in both Pride & Prejudice and Public Enemies. In trying to find a picture of her, I found her to be all over the place – she had long hair in some pictures and short hair in others; she had brown hair, dirty blond hair and bleached blond hair; she smiled in some pictures and looked angry in others; she looked young and cute in some and old and tired in others. It was all very confusing. If anyone has ever seen the Seinfeld episode where Jerry dates the girl who only looked good in a certain light – I get the impression that Carey Mulligan could be that girl in real life.
In any case, the movie is going to start filming very soon for its 2010 release. It will also star Michael Douglas, Frank Langella and possibly Josh Brolin. Oliver Stone will direct.
Frank Langella In Wall Street 2
Variety.com is reporting that Oscar-nominated actor Frank Langella will be joining the cast of Oliver Stone’s Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. He will play Lewis Zabel, a veteran broker who mentors the young Wall Street broker played by Shia LaBeouf. Michael Douglas will be reprising his role as Gordon Gekko from the 1987 movie. Rumour has it that Josh Brolin will also be in the movie.
Langella most recently appeared in Frost/Nixon where he garnered an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of ex-President Richard Nixon.
New Poster for The Box
Richard Kelly has taken to Twitter to debut the final poster for his upcoming movie The Box starring Cameron Diaz, James Marsden and Frank Langella. Nothing to get too excited about though, considering this poster is only slightly different from the one released a few months back. Is Cameron Diaz’s giant head really the best they could do? I think that probably hurts the movie more than it helps.
In the movie, Diaz and Marsden play a couple who receive a wooden box that promises to deliver its owner $1 million with the press of a button. However, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world.
The Box opens October 30th.
