A Couple Of Bad Lieutenant Posters
LatinoReview.com has a couple of new posters for Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. The movie stars Nicolas Cage as a violent, drug-addicted cop in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans, who rips through the town on a drugs, sex and crime spree. The movie is being promoted as a remake of 1992’s Bad Lieutenant which starred Harvey Keitel, but director Werner Herzog denies any such association, even pointing out that he has not even seen the original movie.
I have read and heard some conflicting reports on the film from people who saw it in Telluride or at the Toronto International Film Festival. Some people have said that it’s a return to form for Nic Cage and others have said it’s a train wreck. In any case, I’ll put my faith in director Herzog, who has put out some extremely impressive work over the last five years (if you haven’t seen Grizzly Man, I suggest you do so immediately – it’s simply unbelievable).

Bad Lieutenant Poster
ComingSoon.net has a first look at the poster for Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. Here’s the summary:
Nicolas Cage plays a rogue detective who is as devoted to his job as he is at scoring drugs — while playing fast and loose with the law. He wields his badge as often as he wields his gun in order to get his way. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina he becomes a high-functioning addict who is a deeply intuitive, fearless detective reigning over the beautiful ruins of New Orleans with authority and abandon. Complicating his tumultuous life is the prostitute he loves (Eva Mendes). Together they descend into their own world marked by desire, compulsion, and conscience.
The movie, directed by Werner Herzog, will be playing at this month’s Toronto International Film Festival. Check out the poster.
