Machete/Eclipse Posters from AFM
A couple of posters online this afternoon from AFM which is currently underway in Santa Monica. The first, from Coming Soon, is a poster featuring Jessica Alba as Sartana in Machete — from the trailer that played during 2007’s Grindhouse. The movie stars Danny Trejo. Also, from Dread Central, comes an early poster for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Click the posters below for a better look.
Grace and Mears Confirmed For Predators
It looks like Topher Grace will be a member of the growing cast for the Robert Rodriguez-produced and Nimrod Antal-directed Predators movie. Grace will be playing a accountant who moonlights as a serial killer.
Derek Mears, the man who donned the famous Jason Voorhees mask earlier this year in Friday the 13th, will also be appearing. It is not clear what role he will play but some are wondering if the 6′5″ giant will be playing a Predator.
Also in the cast is Adrien Brody, Danny Trejo, Walton Goggins, Alice Braga, Oleg Taktarov, Louiz Ozawa and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali. This will be the group of people who find themselves on an alien planet being hunted by Predators.
The movie will be in theatres on July , 7, 2010.
Expendables Trailer
The first full trailer for The Expendables is now online. You can check it out below courtesy of FirstShowing.net.
The film stars some of the great action movie icons of the 80’s and 90’s, including Sly Stallone, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Terry Crews, Danny Trejo and rumour has it, appearances by Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The UFC and WWE were also able to contribute some of their own legends with Randy Couture and Steve Austin appearing in the film.
In The Expendables, Stallone puts together a crew that head down to South America to overthrow a ruthless dictator. I can’t wait for this one. Unfortunately, its release date was moved from April 23, 2010 to August 20, 2010. That’s just not right!
Besides starring in the movie, Stallone also wrote the screenplay and directed it.
The trailer seems a little lame (something just seems to be missing) but I remember thinking the same thing when I first saw the Rambo trailer and I ended up loving that movie.

Adrien Brody In Predators
Variety.com has reported that Oscar-winner Adrien Brody has been cast for the lead role in the Predators reboot that is being produced by Robert Rodriguez and directed by Nimrod Antal. Brody will play the leader of a group of people who find themselves on a Predator planet being hunted by the Predators.
Brody joins Danny Trejo (Mexican hitman) and Walton Goggins (a psychotic killer) in a cast that will also include Alice Braga, who will play a female killer, Oleg Taktarov, who will be a former Russian special ops soldier and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali as some sort of killer.
It is also rumoured that Topher Grace is in talks to play an accountant/serial killer.
Predators will soon start filming in Hawaii and Austin, Texas for its July 7, 2010 release.
Former ‘Shield’ Star Rumoured To Be In Predators
ComingSoon.net is reporting that Walton Goggins has been cast in Predators.
Fans of The Shield will remember him as Detective Shane Vendrell, probably the show’s most likeable, hated and tragic figure, all wrapped up in one person.
We reported earlier in the week that Danny Trejo has been confirmed as well. Trejo will likely play a character named Cuchillo, a gun-totting enforcer from a Mexican drug cartel.
The cast will also include a character named Royce, who apparently is the hero of the movie. He will be running around the Predator planet with Cuchillo, a Russian “bear” with a rotary machine gun, a French female sniper, a felon who specializes in combat with a knife, an African death squad member, a Japanese gangster named Hanzo and a quieter type of guy who is on the FBI’s most wanted list.
It can almost be assumed that Shane will be playing either Royce, the knife-wielding felon or the FBI most wanted guy. There’s really no one else for him to play. I’ll go with Royce.
Trejo also let us know that the movie will start shooting in about a month.
Predators will be in theatres on July 7, 2010.
Danny Trejo In Predators, Sin City 2 On Hold
In an interview with the website Punch Drunk Critics, Danny Trejo has said he will be in the Predators movie that will be directed by Nimrod Antal and produced by Robert Rodriguez. Trejo was asked about Sin City 2 and this is what he had to say:
It’s kind of in the works, we’re going to do Predator next and so Sin City’s kind of like a thought process right now….We’ll be doing Predator I think in about a month.
So there you have it – Sin City 2 on hold, Predators filming in a month and the first confirmed cast member is Danny Trejo.
Predators will focus on a group of humans who are stranded on a Predator planet. I assume it’s not going to turn out well for these humans. The movie is scheduled to be in theatres on July 7, 2010.
Machete Cast Finalized And It’s A Good One
The full cast for Robert Rodriguez’s Machete has been revealed and the only name I don’t see in there that was floating around for the last few weeks in the rumour mill is Jonah Hill – maybe Steven Seagal replaced him in the “fat guy” role? Here is a list of the names that have been confirmed:

Steven Seagal
Don Johnson
Jessica Alba
Michelle Rodriguez
Lindsay Lohan
Jeff Fahey
Rodriguez will direct with his apprentice Ethan Maniquis.
The movie is expected to be in theatres in 2010. For those who have not seen the fake trailer that was attached to Rodriguez’s and Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse in 2007, check it out below. Just be careful because it is extremely R-rated.
Lohan In Machete
Last week Robert Rodriguez was quoted saying that he had a part for trainwreck Lindsay Lohan in his upcoming movie, Machete. Rodriguez stated, “Lindsay’s cool. There’s actually a cool part in the movie for her – if she takes it.”
Well, despite her reputation as being an uncontrollable party-animal, a cancer on the set and an overall pain-in-the-ass, Lohan confirmed, this weekend via Twitter that she will be in the movie. Oh, did I mention that in 2008, her movie, I Know Who Killed Me, won eight razzies, including worst picture and worst actress?
Hopefully Rodriguez’s part for Lohan involves Danny Trejo chopping off her head within the first five minutes of the movie!
Some other names that have been rumoured to be attached to the film include Robert Deniro, Jonah Hill, Michelle Rodriguez and Steven Seagal. So far the only confirmations have been Trejo, Lohan and the machete.
Machete is scheduled to be in theatres in 2010.
