FilmsActu.com has premiered a new French poster for The Wolfman, starring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving and Emily Blunt. You can check out the poster below and click HERE to see a couple of other posters that were released last week.

It should also be noted that SlashFilm.com picked up on a story that revealed two veteran editors have been hired to work on the movie. Mark Goldblatt, whose resume includes Halloween II, Terminator 1 & 2, True Lies, Armageddon and Bad Boys II; and Walter Murch, who has worked on The Godfather: Part II, Apocalypse Now, Ghost, The Talented Mr. Ripley and Jarhead – will lend their expertise to The Wolfman. Let’s hope they can work with director Joe Johnston and help put together an excellent movie.

The Wolfman will be in theatres on February 10, 2010.

Jim Carrey Getting Fat To Play Curly?

Jim Carrey Fat When we last reported on the progress of The Farrelly Brothers’ The Three Stooges movie, Benicio Del Toro and Paul Giamatti were confirmed for the roles of Moe and Larry, Jim Carrey had dropped out of the movie and some guy named Bill Chott was posting on his own website that he had his “foot in the door” to grab the role as Curly. Chott even indicated on the website that Carrey was no longer involved in the movie.

Well, it now appears that Jim Carrey has been walking around Hollywood with a big beard, a pair of thick-rimmed glasses and about an extra 30 pounds on his belly. Although we have no explanation as to why he would have the beard and the glasses, it appears that Carrey is working on adding 50 pounds to his previously skinny frame to play the role of none other than Curly Howard. As you can see in the picture below, Carrey can barely get the button closed on his suit jacket. This picture was just taken within the last two weeks.

When asked about Carrey’s dramatic weight gain, girlfriend Jenny McCarthy proclaimed, “Oh my God! I get to be dating Curly! That is the greatest thing ever.”

I took at look at Carrey’s IMDB.com page and The Three Stooges is no longer listed in his upcoming films, nor is he listed on the website’s Three Stooges page. Yet there he is, fat, with a beard and a pair of glasses.

I suppose when Carrey starts going around the country promoting his upcoming film A Christmas Carol we might get an explanation on what’s going on with the new look. Until then, I will assume that Carrey is back on board for The Stooges.

The movie is scheduled to be in theatres sometime in 2010.

gene-simmons1PR-Inside has reported that Gene Simmons will be the voice of the howling wolf in Joe Johnston’s The Wolfman. The movie will star the likes of Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving. You can check out the newly released trailer HERE. This is what Simmons had to say about landing the coveted role:

The original Wolfman starred Lon Chaney Jr., son of the legendary Lon Chaney Sr. Chaney Sr. was called Man Of 1,000 Faces, and for me was a pivotal figure in my childhood. So much so, that I wrote a song called Man of 1,000 Faces on my 1978 solo album, and my production company was also called Man of 1,000 Faces in homage to Chaney.

Sounds like the man knows his stuff.

According to the rock and roll legend, he is also close to landing a voiceover role in The Last Airbender:

I was asked to do the voice of the Dragon Spirit in M. Night Shyamalan’s forthcoming Airbender movie. This may or may not come to fruition.

Mr. Simmons is going to be a busy man. KISS has just announced they will be going on a North American tour starting in late September. You can click HERE to see if they will be performing in a city near you.

Bill Chott’s Curly/Stooges Audition Tape

billchott Actor Bill Chott seems to think he has the upper hand for the role of Curly in the Farrelly BrothersThe Three Stooges. Who is Bill Chott you may ask? Well, he played “Thomas” in The Ringer with Johnny Knoxville. There’s not really a whole lot else in his filmography that stands out to me.

Here is what Chott had to say on his homepage:

Big news first. I may have my foot in the door again on the Farrelly Bros. Three Stooges film.

Here’s the scoop. Jim Carrey was cast as Curly in the film but he bowed out. Maybe being bald and fat isn’t his thing. But I’ve been settling into this role for a long time.

After shooting the Ringer with The Farrelly Bros. I told them that I was VERY interested in playing the role of Curly. Pete Farrelly sent me a bunch of Curly tapes and DVD’s to study. I put together an audition which you can see by clicking HERE.

Pete and Bobby Farrelly already think the world of me and Pete even called to let me know that I was at the top of their list and they hadn’t read anyone else besides Jim Carrey for the role. That’s a huge compliement because nobody calls you in Hollywood when you don’t get the role….Especially the Exec. Producer. I’m a big fan of Jim Carrey and I didn’t feel I was losing out when they cast America’s Top Comedy Star as the funniest Stooge, Curly.

I took a look at Chott’s self-made audition tape and I have to say, I’m not sold on him being Curly. I wish him all the luck but I think that a bigger name might land the role, especially considering Paul Giamatti and Benicio Del Toro are already confirmed. You never know – stranger things have happened in Hollywood. Check out Mr. Chott’s audition below and decide for yourself.

The Boston Globe was able to catch up with Peter Farrelly last week and were able to confirm some news regarding their upcoming movie about The Three Stooges. It was confirmed that Paul Giamatti has signed on to replace Sean Penn as Larry. Benicio Del Toro, himself a huge Stooges fan, will be playing Moe. Despite reports that Jim Carrey will be playing Curly (it is even indicated on his IMDB page), apparently this is not the case. Farrelly has not yet confirmed who will “nyuk-nyuk” and “woo-woo” their way through the part.

The movie is scheduled to be in theatres in 2010 so one would think an annoucement will be made very soon.
