When I first heard about Spider-Man the
movie, it didn't interest me at all? Why didn't it interest me? There
are a few pathetic reasons why. One - I was never into the Spider-Man
comic, two - I hate spiders and that's all I thought it was about and
three - I wasn't into superhero movies. But that all changed very
quickly.
I first saw the trailer on the 13 Ghosts VCD, which I was highly
impressed by. I would have never imagined such awesome stylized action.
I then decided, what the heck, I'll go and see it at the movies,
whenever it came out in New Zealand.
And what do you know? I came out of the cinema extremely impressed
knowing that it was one of my favorite movies. My favorite scene? There
are two. One of my favorite scenes was the scene where Spider-Man/Peter
Parker saved Mary-Jane in the rain. All I could say was "Lucky
Spider-Man", which my friend found quite amusing. My other favorite
scene was the awesome action sequence right before the credits came up,
where Spiderman was flying around New York City, jumping from building
to building and finally swinging around the American flag.
The only slight disappointment I had with the film was the ending when
Peter Parker (dare I say it, a lame name) left Mary-Jane (another lame
name) in the cemetery, when they obviously could have been perfect
together. If and when the sequels come out, I hope Mary-Jane is back and
better than ever, and I hope she and Peter/Spidey get a little more
intimate.
Overall, Spider-Man was a pretty awesome movie.
