Sure, the computer graphics were
extremely well done. But man, I would like a helping of plot too please.
Admittedly, I was pretty into the film in the start. I figured the plot
would fill in the holes later on. If it did, I totally missed it. And
like A.I., we come across Act Three problems. The film slowed to a crawl
in the end and totally lost any momentum it had built. While I did enjoy
the space-aged shootout scenes, there were just too few for my palate.
Without the computer graphics this movie would have sucked. Even with
the computer graphics, it sucked.
And, as for the Spider-Man trailer...
For a movie a year away, I think less would have been more. I would have
been more intrigued if they had cut out the robbery set up and only
opened with the van caught in the web. After all, it worked for ID4. No
rating here...I don't do trailers...sorry.
