The Switch Trailer and Poster

the-switch-trailer

The trailer and poster for The Switch starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman are online. If the title doesn’t sound familiar, you might remember the movie from when it was called “The Baster”. The movie stars Aniston as a woman who decides to get pregnant. She hires a donor (Patrick Wilson) and throws herself an “I’m Getting Pregnant Party”. At the party her best guy friend (Bateman) gets drunk and “switches” the donor sperm with his own. Hence the title “The Switch”. Check out the poster below and give it a click to check out the trailer over at Apple.

IGN.com has premiered the first poster for The Expendables. The movie stars a slew of 80’s and 90’s action stars. Just take a look at the poster to get an idea of the star power behind it. In the film, Sylvester Stallone leads a team of mercenaries sent to South America to overthrow a local government. Of course, things will not go smoothly for the gang and the result will be lots and lots of dead South Americans.

My week just wouldn’t be complete without another Toy Story 3 poster. Here we have the latest (from Latino Review) featuring the character Sparks. You’ll probably recognize him from the trailer where Buzz shakes his hand and his arm operates like a jack lifting him in the air. He figured in a couple of other scenes from the trailer, but that’s the one that comes to mind. Check out the poster below.

Final Prince of Persia Poster

UGO has the final poster for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time featuring Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton and Ben Kingsley. What I like is how the poster tells us this movie is “From the Producer of Pirates of the Caribbean” — like that’s all Jerry Bruckheimer has ever done. And that he’s the only drawing point of the movie. Even Gyllenhaal’s name is barely visible just above the film’s title. I actually didn’t even see it at first. And pardon me, but Pirates of the Caribbean was released in 2003. Why not “From the Producer of the Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy”? Probably because the 2nd and 3rd movies weren’t that great. And what else has Bruckheimer done since then? Why not something more recent like “From the Producer of G-Force”. You remember G-Force — the 3D movie about talking rodents. Yeah. You get the idea. The bottom line is that this movie better be good, or I’m gonna be mighty pissed at Jerry Bruckheimer. Why? Because if you believe the poster, he’s the only one responsible.

On a side-note, I also want to express my disgust with Disney and ABC. Did anyone else notice in ABC’s Oscar pre-show how they interviewed Jake Gyllenhaal and brought up that he was starring in Prince of Persia and how the poster for the movie was “in malls across America”. Gimme a break. (ABC is owned by Disney who are releasing the movie.) Bottom line is that I’m tuning into the Oscars for the Oscars, not to be advertised to about your upcoming movies. I can understand if Gyllenhaal was up for an award, but no. His sister was. So what’s the point of interviewing him? There wasn’t one. So do me a favor and get off my TV screen.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Poster

Synopsis: From the team that brought the “Pirates of the Caribbean” trilogy to the big screen, Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films present “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” an epic action-adventure set in the mystical lands of Persia and based on the video game of the same name. A rogue prince (Jake Gyllenhaal) reluctantly joins forces with a mysterious princess (Gemma Arterton) and together, they race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time — a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time opens May 28, 2010.

Toy Story 3 Group Poster

Yahoo! Movies has another poster for Toy Story 3 — not one of the individual character posters we’ve been adding for the last few weeks, but one featuring pretty much every toy from the movie you can possibly think of. Does this mean they’re scrapping the individual posters? Probably not. But it kinda takes away some of the mystery as to which individual posters we can expect in the future.
