An American couple, Roy (Woody Harrelson) and Jessie (Emily Mortimer), travel on the famed Trans-Siberian train from China to Moscow. They soon encounter another couple, Abby (Kate Mara) and her boyfriend, Carlos (Eduardo Noriega), and what seems to be a simple train journey turns into a chase full of deception and murder.
