The Movie The Extras Reviewed by

In Sky High, Michael Angarano plays Will Stronghold, the son of super hero parents (who just happen to be two of the greatest superheroes ever) who gets sent off to follow in his parent's footsteps and attend a high school specifically designed for super heroes, named "Sky High". However, Will faces a problems in that he has yet to develop his super power. He doesn't even know what it is!! So, when he's relegated to the "sidekick" role at school, he becomes a bit of a misfit, but makes some pretty good friends. Soon though, he develops his super power and turns out to be just as strong and powerful as his legendary father (Kurt Russell). With his newfound popularity, he becomes the hit of the school and finds himself turning his back on his former sidekick friends. Eventually, he realizes that being cool isn't all it's cracked up to be and, when his new superhero friends turn out to be supervillains, he must team up with the sidekicks to save Sky High.

I don't know why, but I imagined Sky High would be a lot different than it turned out to be. I imagined a more serious tone about a super hero school for teens. Instead, it turned out to be more of a pretty basic Disney kids movie. Still fun – just not what I was looking for.

Bonus features here include an alternate opening which explains a bit of the backstory with Will Stronghold's parents, just over 4-minutes of Super-Bloopers, an "I Melt With You" music video by Bowling for Soup, a "Welcome to Sky High" behind-the-scenes fluff piece and finally a "Breaking Down Walls" featurette, which is a brief look at the stunts from the movie.

This movie was decent family entertainment aimed at younger and pre-teen kids. Anyone older might find it a bit cheesy - more like Thunderbirds and less like Spider-Man or Batman Begins. It was still fun and mildly entertaining, but I think if it had been done the way I'd imagined, it could've been a lot better.
