Saw III features the return of Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), the psychotic killer who has a passion for "testing" people who have problems in their lives. Unfortunately for these people, his tests generally end in a gruesome death. In this chapter of Jiggy's life he is, ironically, the one who is painfully suffering because of an inoperable brain tumour. I'm not sure if it's inoperable because it's on his brain or because if he does go to a hospital, he'll be arrested and sentenced to death (or at least life in prison). Either way, Jigsaw is dying and he knows it. So along with his trusty sidekick Amanda (Shawnee Smith), Jigsaw kidnaps a pill-popping, unhappily married doctor to operate on him while he separately tests a depressed father, played by Braveheart's Robert the Bruce, who recently lost his only son when he was run over by a drunk driver. (Like he deserves to suffer anymore than he already has.) Nevertheless, and in the famous words of Jigsaw, "there will be blood".

With that being said Saw III, in my opinion, is probably the weakest of the three Saw movies that have so far been made. That doesn't make it a bad movie but it is definitely the movie I had the most problems with. I just found Jigsaw to be getting desperate in his "tests" and his quest for attention. I mean, torturing a guy who lost his only son? Has he not suffered enough? Leave the poor guy alone! And please explain to me how Jigsaw managed to run around capturing all these people and setting all these traps when the guy is on death's doorstep! I know he now has a trusty sidekick, but as you will see in the movie, he does alot of the legwork on his own.

Saw is probably one of my favourite gory horror movie franchises to come along in years. I'm not even sure if I'd call these movies horror because, let's be honest, they're not all that scary. Digusting? Yes. Gory? Yes. Scary? Not really. The best Saw movie yet? Nope.

I could go on and on with the little problems and big problems I had with Saw III but I don't want people to think I didn't like the movie. I did like it. But there are problems. It should be interesting to see where the franchise goes after this movie. There was some drastic developments in Saw III but I can assure you, it's not the end of the blood.
