The Movie The Extras Reviewed by

In Roll Bounce Bow Wow plays "X", the best roller skater in his neighborhood. Unfortunately for "X", when his neighborhood roller skating rink closes, he's left wondering what the hell he's going to do with his summer. Sure there's a rink on the other side of town, but "X" has a little too much pride to be seen at a rival rink. When his friends coax him into trying it out, they get more than they bargained for when they are challenged to compete in a competition against a teen skating dream named "Sweetness" and his gang of cronies. So, "X" and his boys have just a few weeks to prepare for the chance to show everybody just what they're made of - and of course to win a $500 jackpot! Along the way, "X" must deal with his own issues at home including the recent death of his mother and his father having lost his job.

Special features on this DVD include 3 commentaries (the first by director Malcom D. Lee, the second by Lee with stars Bow Wow and Mike Epps and the third with Lee, writer Norman Vance Jr. and producer Robert Teitel), 12 deleted scenes with optional director's commentary, a brief "Bow Wow" profile featurette, a couple of featurettes looking at the making of the movie including "70s Stylin: The Look of Roll Bounce" and "Forward Motion: The Making of Roll Bounce", some "Skating Competition Newswraps" featuring footage from a real competition, a gag reel, some music videos and finally the film's theatrical trailer.

However cheesy this movie was, I still kinda enjoyed it. Maybe it was the fact that it was about roller skating. Maybe it was the charismatic lead performance by Bow Wow. Or maybe it was just the fact that I was sick and on some medication that made me pretty drowsy. Either way, it was a decent watch. Not for all audiences, but not a total waste of time.
