In Night At The Museum, Ben Stiller stars as Larry Daley, a newly divorced father who is struggling to find a job so he can make his child support payments. Larry accepts a less-than-appealing job as a night watchman at New York's Museum of Natural History where three aging security guards (played by Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney and Bill Cobbs) are set to retire.

Shortly after closing time on his first night on the job, Larry realizes he is in for one hell of a ride when he discovers that once the doors are locked and the sun goes down, everything in the museum comes to life - the lions, elephants, monkeys, wooley mammoths, the cavemen, the tiny figurines, the Egyptian statues, Attila the Hun, Teddy Roosevelt, a T-Rex skeleton - everything you could imagine. It is Larry's job to maintain control over the chaos that ensues each night but he soon learns that he has much more to contend with than just simply the insanity that that takes place each night. Night At The Museum also stars the likes of Robin Williams (in a surprisingly subdued performance), Owen Wilson, Ricky Gervais and Jack Bauer's girlfriend from "24".

Night At The Museum is the best family movie to hit theatres in many, many years. It really is a movie that should entertain people of all ages. I have to say, I enjoyed it from the opening scenes right to the final credits. It doesn't take long for things to get going in the movie and once they do, it's a fantastic ride. There are likeable characters, plenty of excitement, moments that will make you laugh out loud and even a couple that may bring a tear to your eye.

It's pretty much the perfect holiday movie. If you can't go see Night At The Museum and walk out of the theatre with a smile on your face then bahumbug to you. Maybe you should change your name to Ebineezer Scrooge. It's that simple. This is a movie that is sure to end up in the family's DVD library somewhere down the road. It's just a fun movie and one that comes highly recommended. A job well done to everyone involved in it's production.
