Mindhunters is a movie about a group of potential FBI psychological profilers (starring the likes of Christian Slater, Eion Bailey, Clifton Collins Jr., Will Kemp, Jonny Lee Miller, Kathryn Morris Patricia Velasquez and LL Cool J) who are sent to an abandoned military island to complete the final stages of their training. Under the watchful eye of their supervisor Jake Harris (Val Kilmer), the trainees are supposed to be given a simulated murder situation on the island and as a group, figure out who is the killer. Little do they know that a real-life killer is actually stalking them and soon begins to knock them off one at a time. The group is forced to use their skills to figure out who is picking them off before the abandoned island remains deserted but with a handful of corpses littering its horizon!

Mindhunters is a movie that has been on the shelf for a couple of years. It was supposed to be released, then it wasn't, then it was supposed to be released again, then it wasn't again. Well, now it seems it is finally being released in North America on May 13th. After seeing this movie, I came to the conclusion that it wasn't nearly as bad as its delayed release dates suggest it is but not nearly as good as it could have been. Mindhunters has a real "B" movie feeling to it. The acting is not great, the dialogue is nothing to write home about and there are some special effects in the movie that are not very special. But at the same time, it is a fairly interesting story, there are some genuinely tense moments in the movie, some "cool" kill scenes and it does leave you guessing right up until the very end and for that, I must tip my hat (that I am not even wearing right now but I'll try to remember to tip it the next time I do wear one). Mindhunters is a movie that can be enjoyed by one and by all if you go into it not expecting to have your own mind massaged. If you just sit back, enjoy the ride and don't think too much about what you are seeing, you might just have a decent night out at your local cinema.
