Chicken Little
(Walt Disney Home Entertainment)

The Movie The Extras Reviewed by
6.5/10 6/10 Liam

In Disney's Chicken Little, Zach Braff voices the title character of Chicken Little who, according to the kids story, causes panic when he declares that the sky is falling. But that's only where the movie starts. What follows is Chicken Little's struggles to come to terms with the embarrassment suffered by his father (voiced by Garry Marshall) from that fateful day. Things seem to finally take a turn for the better when Chicken Little becomes the star of his school's baseball team (by accident more than anything). However, the glory is short-lived when another piece of the sky falls on his head. When it turns out that the piece of the sky is actually part of a spaceship, Chicken Little and his friends must rise to the occasion and save the world.

Chicken Little was an okay movie. I went into it with very low expectations and by the time I finally got through it, I found myself mildly entertained. It wasn't necessarily the greatest movie out there, but it's an okay movie for the kid in all of us. Although I wouldn't compare the animation to anything Pixar has done in the last several years, it was passable and the voice work provided by the film's stars brought character and heart to the movie that would've otherwise been lacking.

Bonus features on this DVD include a few alternate openings and a deleted scene (with optional introductions by the film's director and producer), two music videos, some karaoke, a sing-along-song, a "Where's Fish" trivia game and making-of feature titled "Hatching Chicken Little".

As I said, Chicken Little was an entertaining little movie, although I'm not quite sure I'd let my own kids watch this movie just yet. It's not classic Disney and it's not Pixar, but if you're the type of parent who'll let their kids watch just about anything as long as its animated, I don't see a problem with this one.
