"Eugene

Eugene Levy is on top of the world. And so
he should be.
I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Eugene Levy in Toronto
to talk about A Mighty Wind, his latest collaboration with Christopher
Guest. Gracious, genuine and humble, Levy
was a pleasure to interview (much to my surprise, he actually appeared
to be a bit nervous as he sat down to face the sea of eager faces that
were our press junket). What can I say? Eugene Levy is just
so...Canadian.
It has been interesting to watch the trajectory of Eugene Levy's career.
A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Levy began his career in film with a
stint as vice-president of the McMaster Film Board while attending
McMaster University. By the late 1970's, he had moved on to the Second
City Theatre, where he established the relationships and collaborative
efforts that have continued throughout his career. (It is hard to think
of Eugene Levy without also thinking about improvisational greats such
as Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara and the late John Candy.) From there,
Levy's career has only climbed upwards. At the time of our interview,
Levy was just coming from the box-office success of Bringing Down the
House and heading into the anticipated success of his latest projects, A
Mighty Wind, Dumb and Dumberer and American Wedding (a little movie also
known as American Pie 3). Eugene Levy's star does not appear to be
heading anywhere but up.
