The Official Thread of the Toronto Maple Leafs
0-2
Okay, I guess they're 0-1-1.
Looks like the same old problems over and over. Crappy goaltending, mediocre defense, no scoring. It's going to be a long season.

Scoring wasn't a problem for the Leafs last year - they were 10th-highest scoring team last year. Their biggest problem was defense and goaltending - they were the #1 highest scored-on team last year.

Penalty killing has been horrible. My friend tried telling me that Wilson will be fired but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

THE WORST LEAFS TEAM IN HISTORY!
Ok, maybe not, but they have never started a season with 5 losses. They do have one point from that overtime loss, so it's not a complete disaster. By the way, is there any professional sport other than hockey where a team can make the playoffs without ever winning a game?

Vernon Wells is currently tied for the league lead in home runs, rbi's and batting average for the 2010 season.

Strange schedule - they play 4 games in 8 days, no games for a week, then play 5 games over the next 8 days.

It didn't help.....
So tonight they play Anaheim. This might be the only game they have a chance of winning. If they lose this, they might go winless for the month of October. I hope Boston enjoys getting the first overall pick.

Egads, those vintage Canadiens uniforms are ugly. Not only is it obvious they must come from a pre-television era, but I have to think it's from a time they played outside in raging snowstorms. Really, the only purpose of a uniform like that is to be able to find someone in a blizzard. Where's Waldo? I think he plays for the Habs.

He played good in game 1. I want to see how he plays in game 10.

He sure got flattened early on, but came back

That's 'cause the Leafs were nauseated having to look at those vertigo-inducing outfits.

Last night I listened to the first period of the Leafs game on the radio. Missed the rest as I was watching Survivor then Supernatural. When I left the Leafs were up 3-0. First thing I hear this morning is they lost 6-5. Then I find out, after scoring the go-ahead goal with 30 seconds left, they gave up the tying goal with 2 seconds left. But, on the positive side, they do get a point out of it, so it could have been worse.
