The Prestige (2006)

I saw this one last night and was mesmerized by it.

I thought it was wonderfully played by all.

The cinamatography and lighting was awesome.

David Bowie as Tesla was incredible.

I will not give anything away about it. Go out and see this one, or if you can't get to it in the theater, then definitely rent it when it comes out.

9/10.

Since people have been saying they liked it in the "Watched Tonight" thread, I thought it would be neat to see what other people thought of it...so here's my thread about it on Rue Mortuary...and the consensus is that it's wonderful there, too.

Remarkable film. So many deep themes and subtle hints dropped. Nolan is a genius. Not a movie everyone will appreciate, but completely amazing in every way regardless. Really weird seeing Bowie in a role like this. And Bale pulls off another unforgettable role IMO.

You have no idea what a good movie is then...

This movie completely over extended itself, mixed genres, and confused the shit out of me at times, I did think the cinematogrphy was great, but so what, the story was filled with holes and had no clear idea of what kind of movie it wanted to be. By the way Hugh Jackman is a fag.

Nikola Tesla's birthday today.

Haven't seen The Prestige in a couple of years; should get around to watching it again sometime. For anyone who hasn't seen it I would highly recommend it.

Google told me. On their main page they sometimes change the "Google" logo to reflect events, and if you click it it takes you to a google search of that item. Being a big deal in the world of electricity and stuff, I guess they felt his birthday merited that kind of special treatment.
