Danny The Dog

well it was called danny the dog but now it's the untitled jet li/morgan freeman movie.. but yea

sorry if this has been posted already***

Release Date: TBA 2004

Studio: Rogue Pictures (Focus Features)

Director: Louis Leterrier

Screenwriter: Luc Besson, Robert Mark Kamene

Starring: Morgan Freeman, Jet Li, Bob Hoskins, Kerry Condon, Christian Gazio, Silvio Simac

Genre: Action, Crime, Thriller

Plot Summary: This is the story of Danny (Li), a slave who has lived his whole life without any sort of normal human education, with the mind and personality of a young child, with only one lesson learned: how to fight. Treated like a dog by his owner/boss, Bart (Hoskins) which includes having to wear a collar, Danny has been raised to be a lethal fighting machine who fights in illegal gladiator-style fight clubs, where he earns lots of money for Bart as the undisputed champion. After a car accident that lands Bart in a coma, however, Danny meets a kind elderly blind piano tuner (Freeman) on the run because he knows secrets some bad guys don't want known, who uses music to teach Danny some things about the world and about being human.

this seems weird.. ok drama mix with action? .. they could make this really serious and "award winning" and such .. or pull an exit wounds and just go stupid

The movie was known as Danny the Dog for a long time, so maybe it was talked about here under that name...

it does look like it could be the best english language Jet Li movie so far (which isn't saying much, though)

the cool thing about it is that Jet Li gets to team up with Yuen-Woo Ping as the fight choreographer, instead of the superhack Corey Yuen.

Saw the trailer for this, watched it three times. Looks like a really good action flick with some heart and a original idea. A human dog trained to kill at his master's notice.

The main bad guy, The Trainer, and the use of the leash plus Luc Besson involvement and Jet Li will make this movie stand out when it is released.

Massive Attack just recorded the original score for director Luc Besson’s martial arts thriller “Danny the Dog,” featuring Jet Li, Bob Hoskins and Morgan Freeman. Watch the full-length trailer of the movie and hear five songs from the album now.

Tracks are also due to be available through I-Tunes soon.

I've been waiting to see this movie for a while. I'll just see it for Jet Li.

Thumbs up

This is going to be a good film. The trailer made it look good and the action scenes look cool.

Since its produced and written by the people who did his last decent film, Kiss of the Dragon, I'm more than stoked to see this although it might be hitting video overseas before hitting theatres here.

The fight scenes look badass. As long as the story is decent, which seems the case, this movie will be a hit.

Hopefully the addition of Hoskins and Freeman will elevate that part of the film.

Hoskins puts in some work in this movie, at least it seems from the trailer.

The one that is out is pretty long, more than a teaser.

I think the trailer that is out is cool and pretty well done. They don't give everything away and you want to see what happens.

Danny the Dog sounds like a crappy DTV Disney movie. But the trailer makes it look so kick ass. Jet Li is one of my favorite martial artists. Too bad he is a horrible actor.

He's a good actor but the language barrier makes it difficult, I think he conveys emotion well enough.

Luc Besson is writing for this movie (I wish he was directing too, I loved Léon) and the trailer was awesome.......I can't wait for this movie (but will it have a limited release?)

Since its Jet Li, and Hero did decent business along with his other medium sized hits I think we can expect a pretty wide release. It looks a little more meditative than his previous films but it does have fighting in it so they can sell it at that.
