I gotta say, this movie really kept me on my toes trying to figure out what was going on. It started out relatively straight forward, but confusion quickly set in. While the scenes within themselves played out cohesively, their relation to one another became somewhat of a mystery. This, along with notable visuals and music selections, successfully created the wonderful surreal atmosphere which surrounded the film. And as the riddle grew, so did my expectations for a reasonable explanation. While the ending was definitely a stretch, it somehow felt entirely fitting. That was not to say I wasn’t a little disappointed, for I was. In the end, I realized it wasn’t so much the story that drew my attention, as it was the storytelling.

Some nice extras found here. One featurette, which was great, followed the stars on the press tour, while another dealt with behind-the-scenes action. Also included here were, a music video, a short interview with Paul McCartney about his contribution, two trailers and a large photo gallery. There was also a great commentary track from director Cameron Crowe which provided plenty of insight.

It can seem like a think piece, but you may as well just enjoy the ride, for you’re not likely to see this ending coming.

The Movie: 6/10
The Extras: 5/10

Recommendation: Rent This One
