What made this film so remarkable, was
the amount of critical acclaim it garnered. I'm not saying it was bad,
but it certainly wasn't anything that special. Sure, it had good
performances and the multiple plots were well laid out and created a
strong mood. But the slow pace and clashing color palettes really
turned me off. Even when things were rolling along, I was bored. This
may have also had something to do with the filming style. There were
hints of a documentary feel throughout which made the movie seem more
like snapshots of someone's life rather than a story to be told. That
just didn't work for me.
Extras included here were three trailers, some TV spots, a photo
gallery and a decent behind-the-scenes featurette that discussed the
plot. There wasn't a commentary track.
Like I said, it just was not all it was hyped up to be.
