This was a film who's enjoyment relied
on the proper frame of mind. In fact, just shut your brain down, it
won't get used much. Imaginative martial arts, computer enhanced
gunplay and an impressive car chase were the obvious highlights here.
The plot, which only made sense superficially, served it's purpose
well enough. All in all, a fun ride.
Both full-screen and widescreen versions were available here, one on
each side of the disc. Extras were spread out among both and consisted
of an informative behind-the-scenes featurette, three extended action
sequences with optional commentary and the theatrical trailer. A
commentary track from producer Steven Chasman and star Jason Statham
brought some insight, but for the most part was mundane.
A cool action flick. Enjoyable with limited expectations.
