Commentary with Writer/Director Phil Alden Robinson, "The
Making of Sneakers" Documentary, Theatrical Trailer
|
What made this terrific spy/caper flick
so entertaining was it's sense of fun. Without the beginning-to-end
seriousness of most espionage films, this one instead held a slightly
lighter tone thanks to it's endearing characters and tech-y nature. On
the action front, tension was sustained quite well despite not really
having that much happen. And with none of today's flashy effects, one
gets to witness how storytelling once sustained mainstream movies.
Not much here except for a great making-of featurette and a theatrical
trailer. There was also an ensemble commentary track with
director/writer Phil Alden Robinson and producers/writers Lawrence
Lasker and Walter F. Parkes. It was a decent listen as they discussed
this movie's journey to the screen.
An underrated film, well worth the time.
