This movie never looked that good to
start with. And when everyone trashed it, my expectations dropped to
an all-time low. I'll say, it really wasn't all that bad. Sure,
performances weren't the best, but they were passable in this action
flick. The plot drew the most criticism since it was extremely
ridiculous and totally disconnected with itself. But the stunt work
was surely a highlight - at least with the street luging. The rink
shots, I admit weren't so spectacular. Still, we got hot cars and hot
chicks, if not hot action.
This special edition came with a very good featurette on the stunts,
an extensive but tiring look at characters and equipment from the
movie and a Rob Zombie music video. A commentary from stars Chris
Klein, LL Cool J, and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos was actually quite
entertaining as they seemed to enjoy talking about this film.
Looking past the plot (which can be difficult), you can almost
appreciate all the shallow action sequences.
