I had never thought this sequel special
when I first saw it years ago, and after this latest viewing, I can
remember why. Even on the surface, many plot details seemed hokey if
not absurd. The characters and especially their dialog seemed totally
unpolished. But all was not lost. The core concept remained intact
leaving this movie working well enough to entertain as a throw away
action-fest.
It was none too promising when "interactive menus" were
listed as a bonus feature. All that was here was a theatrical trailer
and two short featurettes from when the movie was being promoted. No
commentary track.
Perhaps with a little more time, the damage done to this potential
franchise will be erased. Or perhaps not.
