Out just in time for the 60th
anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, this DVD sure was a
disappointment. There was a great action-epic hidden somewhere amidst
an overdrawn love story. With great battle sequences due to wonderful
special effects and well timed stylized slow motion shots, this film
ends up bogged down with pointless love story related scenes. Oh well,
at least you can hear it in DTS.
For extras, we only have a few here in this 2-disc set. Rightly so,
they included historic material in the form of a History Channel
documentary, "Unsung Heroes". Also found is possibly one of
the most interesting "making- of" featurettes I've seen. Its
main focus is on the special effects work. Other extras include a
music video, a theatrical trailer, and a teaser trailer.
This movie just screams for a phantom edit.
