You know, this movie didn't look half
bad early on. But as it progressed, it just seemed to stress an
unwanted serious message. For that to work, more big laughs were
needed to counteract the borderline drama. I'm not saying there
weren't any funny moments. There were some, but the light mood
generated did not carry on through subsequent scenes. On a brighter
note, nice work on getting all those comedic luminaries in the
picture! I sure wasn't expecting those.
Extras here include four dull deleted scenes, the trailer and fifteen
promo spots that were much funnier than the movie itself. A commentary
from director Jake Kasdan and writer Mike White provided some insight,
but nothing too entertaining.
I can't say it was a total disaster, but it just wasn't funny enough.
