Two Screen-Specific Audio Commentaries, "The Making of

zPresented in true classic caper fashion,
this modernly-stylized flick was pleasantly light and straight
forward. Show the audience bits of the plan to start, then let it
elaborately unfold. As simple as that. What would have otherwise been
a smaller feature was pushed to the limelight with an ensemble of
familiar faces. Each of the stars got a unique character to play and,
in turn, got to shine in their own brief fragments of screen time.
Sure, this movie wasn't deep, but it worked, and provided two hours of
shallow amusement.
Bonus material includes a great making-of featurette, a look at the
clothing design, three trailers and some filmographies. There were two
commentary tracks, one with director Steven Soderbergh and
screenwriter Ted Griffin, and the other with stars Matt Damon, Andy
Garcia and Brad Pitt. While both contained annoying moments of
silence, the first one was far more informative. The second, though
more fun to listen to, was very self-congratulatory.
This film offered an aura of coolness mixed with the lightness of
comedy. The end result, some flashy fun.
