Next to "Jay and Silent Bob Strike
Back", this has got to be my favorite Kevin Smith film. While the
overall plot is a little shaky, not to worry as it isn't that relevant
anyway. The dialogue and the characters themselves bring in all the
laughs. Whether due to it's quirkiness or adolescent honesty, the
comedy here sits well with me. As usual, there is an amateurish feel
to it all, but the film still unfolds quite nicely.
This Collector's Edition comes packed with many great extras. These
include such gems as deleted scenes, some live footage from the
commentary session, a Smith directed music video and a wonderful
featurette filled with interviews from cast and crew, talking about
the lack of success from the film. Also, more common bonuses such as
cast info, production notes, a photo gallery and the trailer are found
on the DVD. As usual, a highly entertaining commentary track is
provided. This time, we get the voices of Smith, stars Jason Lee, Ben
Affleck and Jason Mewes, producer Scott Mosier, and Smith historian
Vincent Pereira.
With extremely crude humor scattered throughout, many will likely be
put off. However, if you're immature enough, this is sure to delight.
