Though it can be dismissed as merely a
collection of amateurish skits and stunts, this movie nonetheless
amused me. That's not to say I was thoroughly entertained, for half
the bits were on the weak side, and yielded few laughs. But those that
did crack me up were a riot, fueled by the sheer outrageousness on
screen. Be warned though, check your standards at the door.
In a nice touch, some of the bonus material found here were just as
funny as the feature itself. Additional footage and outtakes proved to
be hilarious encore segments while a "making-of" featurette
also provided plenty of humour. Other extras included, two music
videos, cast and crew biographies, nine TV spots, the theatrical
trailer, a collection of captioned production photos, and a poster
gallery. A pair of commentary tracks were also found on the DVD. The
first was presented by director Jeff Tremaine, cinematographer Dimitry
Elyashkevich, and star Johnny Knoxville. The second was an ensemble
one from the cast of the film. While the latter did deteriorate into
nonsense at times, both were a fun listen.
Immature, but funny as hell.
