With a generic title and a seemingly mundane premise, I really had zero expectations after viewing this movie's trailer. But upon seeing the whole film, I was glad to discover what a decent thriller this turned out to be and not a wasted military courtroom drama. Along with the two leads, it was the brisk pace of it all which kept things energized. Thrown in were some lighter moments and I was quite entertained. The plot was a bit on the sketchy side though, and elements of tension common to the genre felt a bit forced and awkwardly executed. Character motivations also never materialized firmly, leaving one questioning in the end. Nothing of major importance, but it was a little annoying.

Extras on this DVD fit perfectly with the movie and were each short and interesting. These included, an interview with the book's author, behind-the-scenes footage of the FBI takedown, a comparison of military to civilian law, an examination at how to beat a polygraph, behind-the-scene footage of the car crash, a look at the pairing of the two stars, and the theatrical trailer. There was also a commentary provided by director Carl Franklin where he seemingly talked more about himself than the film.

It's not too noteworthy a film, but it works rather effectively.

The Movie: 7/10
The Extras: 6/10

Recommendation: Rent This One
