This has got to be the most unconventional romantic comedy ever. Not only was the whole premise original, but rooting for a character everyone loathed throughout the movie was quite uncommon. Of course, star Bill Murray pulled this off and kept us chuckling along the way. That said, Murray was the standout here. There wasn't much difference between this and other characters he's done to date. Therefore, your enjoyment of this film will be strongly dictated by your gusto for him. There also wasn't that much romance in this movie, since most of the time was spent setting up the hilarious situation, and then running with it.

Not much 'special' about this edition. All we really got was a pretty decent interview-filled featurette. More minor bonuses included a filmography section and trailers for this and two other romantic comedies. Two listed features, a DTS soundtrack and production notes, were not to be found. A commentary track from director Harold Ramis contained little of interest since for the most part, he provided silence.

The laughs were solid, but didn't really measure up in variety to today's laugh-fests. However, there was still a fun time to be had.

The Movie: 7/10
The Extras: 1/10

Recommendation: Rent This One
