Commentary With Writer David Benioff, The Evolution of an
American Filmmaker Featurette, Ground Zero A Tribute
|
Hinged on it's drama, this smaller
scaled film was quietly hypnotic. And for a premise so simple, the
plot here inexplicably felt more complex. Everything worked, from
potent performances, to deliberate pacing, to the arrestingly funny
but scathing dialogue. Some slick editing and a moody score then only
made each and every scene that much more captivating.
Only a few extras here including, a well presented featurette on the
career of director Spike Lee, a poignant "Ground Zero"
tribute, and six interesting but unexplained deleted scenes. There
were also two commentary tracks, one from Lee and another from writer
David Benioff. Both were fairly informative and spoke of how the
picture was made.
A flashy and well-made character piece.
