Now before watching this short
documentary style movie, one might think that these extreme sports
competitors are mindless potheads who worship Bill S. Preston and Ted
'Theodore' Logan. Well, first impressions are that this might be an
accurate assumption. But only to an extent. This short (47 minute)
movie gives an in depth look into the young extremists who participate
in skateboarding, BMX, moto X and street luge competitions. The movie
reveals that they are determined, disciplined and highly focused athletes.
The egos are there, but then again, they're there in every sport, and
it adds to the show. What I also found to be a little of a surprise,
is the physical demands that are placed on these athletes that you may
not initially consider.
Visually, this movie is exceptional. It's a bit of a rush just to
watch it. The amazing stunts the cameras have captured, all the while perfectly
set to hard rock music. The disc definitely benefits from the quality
DVD has to offer.
The DVD is also loaded with extras that may be of interest, even if
you're not a fan of these X Games. It includes profiles of the
athletes, medal moments in competition and tips and tricks for
beginners. The menu screen is also fairly sharp, and fun to navigate
through to all of the other special features.
