Bring it on Again is one of those senseless sequels. I don't recall seeing it in the theatres so maybe it is one of those straight to DVD movies. Either way, the movie is actually good for what it is trying to be.
The characters are lively, the movie is peppy, but the plot is formula, preventing it from becoming a memorable piece of entertainment. It follows Whittier, a peppy cheerleader who is a freshman at a college with a seven year-reigning championship cheerleading team. After making the team, she quits due to the snobbiness of her peers and forms her own squad out of a band of unlikely misfits in order to compete for the school title. Unless you're a serious fan of the original, you might not get too much out of this movie.
The special features are rather ordinary. A peppy behind-the-scenes featurette, a do's and don'ts of cheerleading (maybe useful to those interested), deleted scenes, and a charismatic video of Pat Benetar's "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" featuring the cast lip syncing the song. One does, however, learn that alongside the moronic George W. Bush (yes, I am Canadian) being a cheerleader, so was Steve Martin.
