A direct-to-video follow-up to Disney's
animated feature, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, this 80-minute cartoon
has Milo re-teaming with his crew for three new adventures. They leave
Atlantis to battle a sea monster, zip off to the American West to
encounter spirits and eventually reach their third adventure in
Iceland.
For young audiences, this movie will be entertaining. However, older
audiences who tend to like Disney features, may be disappointed. Often
Disney features contain a level of seriousness and humor that is aimed
towards older audiences to keep interest. Milo's Return fails to do
this. In addition, the animation is not much better than a Saturday
morning cartoon. I recommend Milo's Return for kids only.
The special features have little to offer. They basically consist of a
rather morbid deleted scene and a game in which you use your DVD
remote to navigate a submarine through underwater caves. The game is
basic and is obviously sub-par to real video games out there. However,
this is a direct-to-video movie, so I don't think a person should
expect much in the way of above average special features.
Atlantis: Milo's Return is a basic DVD. Images and sound quality are
not very impressive and neither are the special features, or even the
movie itself for that matter. But as mentioned, these criticisms
wouldn't really matter to an ankle-biter.
