Bancroft in "Spanglish"

Anne Bancroft has signed on to star in "Spanglish" for Columbia Pictures and helmer-producer James L. Brooks.
The movie will see Bancroft co-star alongside Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni. Shooting is expected to start at year's end. Bancroft will play Leoni's mother in the pic.
Bancroft, a five-time Oscar nominee, most recently received an Emmy nomination for her supporting role in "The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone".
She and husband Mel Brooks are producing Ann Randolph's play "Squeeze Box" for an Off Broadway bow next year and have also optioned the feature film rights.
