Diggs in "Drum"
Friday, October 24, 2003 10:20 AM EDT
Taye Diggs will topline the Armada Pictures feature "Drum", which goes before cameras November 7th in South Africa under the direction of Zola Maseko.
Jason Filardi ("Bringing Down the House") penned the project, which is based on the real life accounts of Drum magazine writer Henry Nxumalo, who risked his life exposing the brutal nature of the South African apartheid regime.
"Drum" is the second film this year to go into production under the Armada banner. The first, thriller "One Point O," is in post-production.
Diggs, who earlier this month was handed an excellence in filmmaking award at the 39th Chicago Film Festival, will next be seen in the GreeneStreet production "Slow Burn".
