Paranormal Activity Is Top Grossing “R” Thriller The Past Decade

This might be the best $15,000 ever spent in the history of film. Paranormal Activity has now passed the $100 million mark at the box office, making it the highest grossing “R” rated thriller of the last decade. It says as much about Paranormal Activity as it does about the quality of “R” movies that Hollywood has been churning out for the last ten years.
Nevertheless, it is great news for a movie that began by showing only at midnight in a handful of cities and has now become one of the most successful movie stories of the year. Congratulations to everyone involved.

I’m confused – what do you mean by “top grossing”? There are plenty of R-rated movies released in recent years that have made a lot more than Paranormal Activity. It’s certainly the most profitable in ROI terms.
Actually, I just read the press release that you’re referring to… Paramount says it’s the “top grossing THRILLER,” which is a bit of a spin.
Still, it’s a worthy accomplishment.
Yeah, I guess the word “thriller” made it a bit misleading. I added that word afterwards. Still pretty remarkable that the movie made that much money.
I love the movie..At first, I get confused and very very sad about Micah Sloat is really dead in real life but after searching the net about the story I figured he is still alive..Love it..
Tell me what you're thinking...
