Danny Boyle’s Next Movie – 127 Hours
Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle is making a movie about mountain climber Aron Ralston. In case you don’t remember who is Aron Ralston, I’m sure this will jog your memory. He was the guy who got his armed trapped under a boulder while mountain climbing in Utah in May 2003. He then proceeded to amputate his own arm with a dull knife and climb a 65-foot wall before he was finally rescued. The story captured the imagination of the world for a short period of time in 2003. It was really quite remarkable.
The movie will be financed and distributed by Fox Searchlight. Production will begin in 2010 with hopes for a release late in the year – just in time for the Oscars once again.
Boyle will soon begin his search for an actor for the lead role. I was checking out some pictures of Ralston and I think he looks a bit like Ryan Gosling….
