Buckle Up Everyone – A View-Master Movie Is On The Way
And I thought a movie based on Asteroids was a bad idea. Now comes the even more ingenious idea – a movie about the view-master. Fringe co-producer/writer Brad Caleb Cane broke the news late in the week via Twitter that he is working on a script that is going to be “like the old 80’s Amblin movies: Goonies, Young Sherlock…In that vein” – whatever that means. I have to add this guy on my Twitter so I can follow his every move. Most people born in the 80’s are sure to remember owning a view-master at some point in their life. Hell, I can remember well into the 90’s, going into nice restaurants and they would hand you a view-master to browse through their dessert selections. Fortunately, all not might be lost, should the view-master movie actually make it to the big screen. I’m thinking they could contact Academy Award-winning actress Jodie Foster to reprise her role as a view-master spokesperson. Check out the video below (thanks to EmpireMovies reader Doug R. for passing that along). I just noticed that the view-master in the above picture actually looks pretty mean. Maybe a movie could work – an army of view-masters attacking New York City!

I’m guessing it is a magical Viewmaster that either transports the person viewing to the scene on the disc into the image, or brings those images into the real world.
