The Informant Trailer Hits the ‘Net
Remember the pictures that surfaced online a few months ago with Matt Damon with a really bad moustache? Well the trailer for that movie has finally hit the net. You can take a look at the Steven Soderbergh directed movie, The Informant, down below. Based on a true story, the movie stars Damon as Mark Whitacre, an agri-industry executive who agrees to work with the FBI to crack an elaborate price-fixing scheme that is taking place at industry giant Archer Daniels Midland. The movie also stars former Quantum Leap headliner, Scott Bakula.
Seeing the trailer, it looks like this movie will have a bit of comedy built into what is a pretty serious story. Seems to have the same feeling of some other Soderbergh projects, most notably the three “Ocean’s” movies. I’m really looking forward to seeing it as Matt Damon is one of my favourite actors. The rumour I have been hearing is that it will be showing at this year’s Toronto Internationl Film Festival, which is perfect because I’m a TIFF junkie. Unfortunately, even with a press pass, it is probably easier to get into the White House than it is to get into a lot of the screening that take place at that Festival, unless of course, you are willing to line up for an hour or two before the movie. Hell, even at the height of his popularity, Roger Ebert got rejected at a screening at TIFF. It’s that bad. Supposedly there will be changes to how they do things this year so I guess we’ll have to wait to see how that goes.
The Informant will be in theatres on October 9th – the same day as the movie down below (Couples Retreat).
